Can I use a Dremel To Cut Laminate (for kitchen countertops)?
Hey folks,
I'm installing a piece of laminate sheet on a custom kitchen countertop. To trim it to size and smooth out the edges, I know you're supposed to use a router with a bit to cut laminate (and then a file to finish it off), however I was wondering if I could use a dremel instead (since I already have one)?
I know I can use the multipurpose cutting bit to cut it enough to get close to the edge, however what would I need to buy (bits and accessories) to do the edges with a dremel?
Thanks!
Too much of a chance for the tool to slip. I't look at the Dremel model that can use a router attachment.
If you want, cut it as close as you can tnd then use a 'bastard' file at a 45 degree angle to the top to finish it out. Using the file reduces the chance of damaging the counter top.
